NBC Olympic Coverage Faces Pressure
With so much controversy and secrecy already taking place in China as the Beijing Olympics approach, NBC is facing some serious pressure.

The television network will be covering the Olympic Games from both a sports and news angle, meaning it must cover carefully, as to not upset the Chinese government by bringing bad news to light.
NBC said it will broadcast 3,600 hours of Olympic coverage spread across eight networks. China is worried that the Games will entice protestors to confront the Beijing government on issues such as conditions in Darfur, Tibet and other human-rights situations.
Opening ceremonies for the Games begin on Friday. According to Variety, preparations have been so confidential that design and production teams have been required to sign confidentiality agreements. Breaches in contract are said to be punishable by up to seven years in prison!
Respond: Will you tune into the Olympics?
