Some might know Demi Lovato as the bright-eyed Mitchie Torres, aka the lead star in the Disney movie Camp Rock that aired this past June. Others may have heard of her from the commotion she's caused on YouTube with her BFF Selena Gomez, with whom she's posted adorable clips of them chatting about the projects they're working on or addressing haters that think they wear too much makeup. Or, if you happened to be one of the lucky fans who scored tickets to Jonas Brothers' current Burnin' Up tour, you probably caught a rocking set from the 16-year-old sweetheart. However you know her, Demi just might be the next breakout teenage starlet, so if you haven't yet heard of her, it's time to start doing your research.
The Disney diva is about to make her grand entrance into the pop world next month with the release of her debut album Don't Forget, co-written by the Jonas Brothers and featuring a thumper of a single titled "Get Back." The video for the track just premiered after the movie Cheetah Girls: One World was aired on the Disney channel, giving her a pretty hefty publicity push and a certified Disney stamp of approval. And if her work ethic on the set of the video proved anything about her character, it's that she's one of the hardest-working gals in the biz: shooting began at 5 P.M. in Brooklyn, New York, and after what Demi describes as an exhausting all-nighter filled with "lots of coffee," she had the video in the bag, showing her tearing up the mic under the Manhattan Bridge with the full support of a backing band.
Even though things are popping off for Demi in the music world, she's still got her sights set on acting with plenty of projects in the works. Alongside Selena, Demi is starring in the Disney movie Princess Protection Program as a princess who has to go into hiding after her throne is threatened to be taken over. The film is set for release on next year, but in the meantime, Demi's keeping busy filming her TV show Welcome to Hollywood, a show that she calls a "'30 Rock' for the Disney channel." And if you thought that a sequel to Camp Rock was in the cards, well, you'll have to wait a bit longer to see what happens next. Demi claims that there's "talk" about the sequel at the moment, but nothing is set in stone just yet.
So like Demi's doing right now (even if she is scheduled to be filming her TV show on the day her album is released), you'll have to stay focused on her music career to get yourself acquainted with the budding superstar. During her conversation with Senior Editor Steven, Demi got personal about how she and the Jonas Brothers entertain each other while on the road and gives her thoughts on the infamous Miley Cyrus video response to the one she made with Selena. Demi also discussed her celebrity crushes on Jim Sturgess and The Academy Is' lead singer William Beckett, what she did to celebrate her Sweet 16 and why her mom calls her "nocturnal."

But Demi seems different so I'm kinda on the fence with her.
Plus she thinks William Beckett is hot (which is TRUE) so she must be smart. I'll keep my eye out for her cuz she seems like someone to watch.
