Hellboy II: The Golden Army is a sequel to the 2004 movie Hellboy and a comic book film based on the fictional Dark Horse Comics character Hellboy. The movie, directed by Guillermo del Toro, also the director of the award-winning movie Pan's Labyrinth, had at times awkward plotting but was overshadowed by fantastical visual effects that were out of this world.

The Golden Army begins when an ancient truce between humankind and the mythical creatures is broken. Hellboy 2 tells the tale of a ruthless leader, Prince Nuada (Luke Goss), who treads the world above and the one below, defies his own family and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. It's up to the planet's biggest, toughest superhero; with the help of a gun he calls Big Baby and his extra large fist, to battle the merciless dictator and his intruders. He may be red and ugly and he may have a bad temper, but when you need the job done right, its time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman), and the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD).
