Video games

Video games are a large part of today's youth. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 50 percent of all 4-6 year-olds have played video games, and one in four plays several times a week or more. Also children aged one to six spend as much time playing video games and watching TV as playing outside. We can not get around the fact that the video game medium is affecting more children more and more each day.

Children are very much influenced by the games that they play. Games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero have the power to make children want to play a real instrument. That is exactly why we need educational video games. Children want to play the games and parents what their children to be well educated. It's a win-win situation.

Companies like Jump Start and Leapster, have created ways for children to have fun and learn at the same time. The PC games in Jumpstart and Leapster are designed for a variety of ages. The games combine adventure, puzzles and problem solving.
