Saving the Music Industry

Rock Band and Guitar Hero have turned playing an instrument into a game. Each one is taking over the gaming industry. People of all ages are getting addicted. But what makes these games so special and successful? Why are people choosing these games over playing a real instrument?

I have come to the conclusion that I have no natural rhythm. I was always the girl singing along to the radio out of tune and mixing up words. With games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, people like me have a chance to become rock stars in our living rooms. And who doesn't want to be a rock star?

Rock Band and Guitar Hero are just what the music industry needs right now. Already bands have become popular because of their inclusion on these games. I'm sure many new bands will someday claim that these games were an integral part of their success. Although most of the bands that are currently included are older, who knows what the future might bring. Other bands may follow in Aerosmith's footsteps and have their own Guitar Hero.

It is not a "Rockband/Guitar Hero" franchise, they are two different franchises.
