Tips to make it even more romantic

The beach has always been thought of as a romantic place that love can flourish in among the funnel cake and footless fun. You know the old cliche: long walks on the beach. However, with ice cold water at times, sand up every crevice you never even knew you had, and the no make-up atmosphere, it's a wonder how the love flourishes.

I wondered these things myself but last Sunday at Far Rockaway beach, I found that among the ice water, sand, and sun, love does have a prominent place. Like I've always believed, love is natural and it's most felt when you are in natural surrounding. This is what makes outdoor dates so romantic. I think I've fallen for people I don't even like once I've gone to the beach with them. Not to worry, I regained my senses after the excursion. So what are my tips for a perfect beach date? I have gathered all my knowledge into the following short list (my knowledge on beach dates, not everything I ever learned, because that would be an awful shame if it all fit in this list).

1. Au Natural

Don't wear make-up. It took a whole bunch of beach excursions to figure this one out. I love my eye shadow like the next girl, but it's best to leave it off for a beach day. Now, I know some people know this is a given, but from one teenage girl to the next, I know that the fun blues and greens that you can wear in sunny weather are hard to resist, so I'm just putting it out their. Because when the salt water hits you in the eye, you have to rub it. If you did spend all the time and effort that morning going for the Victoria's Secret model on the beach look, you will end up looking like you got punched. Your wet hair will be sexy enough by itself.

2. Pack light

Although you may think you need a magazine, chips, a cooler, 2 towels, and a change of clothes, an iPod, and perfume YOU DON'T. The date should be about focusing on each other, not turning you into a U-haul truck. Whatever fits into a normal size tote should be enough. A towel, sunscreen, and shades, plus a drink will do it. This way you won't have to carry a whole bunch of stuff, and without all the gadgets, you will have two benefits. You won't worry about sand or water getting in them, and you get to spend time listening to your boyfriend or girlfriend, rather than the latest Chris Brown track.
